3 Open the file Baskets.ai, locate the control path, and play a little with its anchors to get a feel of the pattern. Notice that the left and bottom anchors are the control anchors (the pattern changes if you move them around). The top anchor is a dependent one. It is attached to its position by "rubber bands". Your task in the next step is to place the "baskets" pattern behind the "handles" pattern so that the control anchors of the "baskets" fall precisely into the specified positions in the "handles" pattern.
4 Revert to the save version of the baskets pattern, if necessary. Then copy the entire pattern (choose Edit > Copy), return to the Handles1 window, select the handles pattern, and paste the baskets behind the handles (choose Edit > Paste In Back). 5 With the baskets pattern still selected, click the direct-selection tool in the toolbox, then click the left anchor of the control path of the baskets pattern and drag it to the top-right anchor of the handles pattern. Smart Guides will ensure that the two anchors coincide. You may want to zoom-in on this area to be able to see the anchors and text label hints clearly.
